This is a later production example of the FF Professional style internal
tone ring banjos. Earlier FF Professional had 20 flying slug holes and
the earlier Grand Concert had 12 f holes, while this one only has two.
The peg head and fingerboard decorations are not of the older fancy type.
But the elaborate heel carving retains the "Special" quality.
The rim is in larger 11 1/2" size. Bacon offered 11 and 11 1/2" sizes.
11" was standard and If not specified, you would get a 11" pot then.

The Bacon tone ring is a donut shaped brass ring slightly
slanted inwards. The inside edge of the ring is not supported
to vibrate freely. The picture of the tone ring is fuzzy because it
is behind the internal resonator wall. I'll put clearer pics someday
when I remove the head to replace or change the set-up.
