バンジョーウクレレ
Banjo Ukuleles
A Gretsch uke banjo.
I have seen several Gretsch Clarophone banjo ukes so far,
but this one is different and by far better made.
See the unique resonator construction.
An ukulele expert collector told me this one is from the '30s.
This uke is found almost unused and the strange looking resonator
came with the uke. But I suspect that acrylic and PVC used for the
resonator was not available for civilian use until the end of the WWII.
I might say the resonator might be a later addition by a handy person.
If I see another one, I'd change my belief.
Anyway the resonator works fine and sounds nice.
It's a one-of-a-kind "resinator" made of plastic resin.
