The Nikon F was sold in Germany under the name "Nikkor F"
because Zeiss Ikon claimed about the name similarity with
their IKON brand. Earlier models had NIKKOR front name plate
and NKK logo on the shoulder. Later models had Nikkor front
name plate and Nikkor engraving on the shoulder. In both cases
black painted versions were scarce.
