Mr.Genji Kumagai (the founder of Kogaku Seiki co.(Nicca)) designed
an improved Leica type camera. Daiichi Kogaku (Zenobia) asked him
for the licence to manufacture the camera and took out the prototype
with them and a small number of Ichicon and Zenobia 35 were made for
test production. But Daiichi Kogaku soon went bankrupt and the cameras
were never sold. After a short while, the Honor camera appeared on the
market and it strangely resembled the Ichicon. It might have been that
someone took out the prototype and toolings and started producing
Honor camera without a contract with Mr. Kumagai.

Honor S1 early type was equipped with a Hexar 5cm/F3.5.
Later type came with either Hexar or Hexanon 5cm/F1.9.
Some of the later type came with Honor 5cm/F1.9.

Circa 1959, Honor SL appeared. It was redesigned on the original
chasis and shutter mecahnism with lever wind and lifesize range/view
combination finder and resombled then popular Canon models.
This model seems to have been export only and made only several hundred.
