Yashica LTM cameras

Yahica YF with Yashikor 50/2 and YE with Yashikor 50/2.8

Yashica bought Nicca in 1958 and absorbed it in 1959.
Yashica was then selling mass-produced rather inexpensive cameras
in large quantity. When they bought Nicca, they were surprised that
Nicca made only a several hundred cameras a month.

The first Yashica made Nicca was Yashica YE. It was just a renamed
Nicca 33, a cheaper one in thier line. Yashica YF followed. It was
redesigned from Nicca IIIL with rather degraded wind/shutter
mechanism and an improved finder with 35mm and 100mm frames added.

The new Nicca-Yashica line did not sell well as Yashica had expected. The Nicca cameras were discontinued but the technology is stil living
through Yashica SLRs and into Contax slr cameras.
