Cole's Eclipse, The Man-in-the-Moon.

This is another banjo I was yearning for.
The Man-in-the-Moon design is one of my most favourite.
W.A.Cole had been in the partnership with A.C.Fairbanks
from 1880 to 1890. Then they parted and Cole started his
new office next door to Fairbanks'.

After A.C. left the company, A.C.Fairbanks & co. kept evolving
their banjo design under David L.Day and developed the Whyte-
Laydie and the Tubaphone and founded the basics of modern banjos.
In the meanwhile, Cole kept manufacturing their beautiful banjos
in the 19th Century tradition and craftsmanship.

See the peculiar "boat tail" shaped heel and inlays around the rim.
