Appeared in early '60s, this camera was designed by Graflex corp. and manufactured by Kowa. It featured the unique carbon dioxide gas powered automatic winding system.

Graphic 35 uses a CO2 gas bulb for a soda siphon.

The focusing is done by the push-pull action of the buttons on both side of the lens barrel that moves the film gate in and out instead of the lens. Click to see the focusing movement of the film aperture gate. The distance and aperture scales are color coded for flash photography.

Two Graphic 35 Jets in the top picture looks the same. but if you look from the bottom, you'll find the difference. The right hand side body lacks CO2 bulb compartment. It looks it was factory made tha way. The CO2 gas movement was manufactured by Graflex corp. and supplied to Kowa. It might be the case that the productivity of the movement was low or it did not work properly they decided to market the JET without the gas movement. The original design works without gas by winding the top lever.
