マイクロ
Mycro, Midget and Hit types for Christmas decoration

I don't know whether this 17.5mm paper backed rollfilm format has been
originated in Japan or not. Anyway the first Japanese camera of this
format was the Mycro in 1936. The Midget soon followed.
After the WWII, these miniature cameras sold well for souvenir to the
soldiers of the occupation force. At that time, every material was short
and manufacturing simple small cameras were an easy way to make money.
Many companies old and new started to produce miniature cameras like the HIT

In the picture above, those on the center podium are better quality
cameras intended for taking serious pictures. There are, MycroII(prewar)
Midget Jilona II(postwar), Midget III, Snappy(Konica) with a telephoto,
Vestcam,Mighty, Rubix, Kiku 16, Toyoca 16 and the only TLR in Mycro size,
the Gemflex from the Showa Opt. of the Leotax camera fame.
Those in the foreground are Hit type cameras and they are almost toys.
At a later time when the sub-miniature camera "Boom" was long gone,
these hit type cameras were said to be sold as Christmas tree decoration!
In the back are blister packed Spy-14(what a name!) with a
daylight developing tank (a black vinyl bag, in fact) and a Hit camera.
