All about Asahi Pentax Auto 110

bunch of auto110s

Pentax Auto 110 series cameras were the only serious system SLR
cameras ever produced in 110 size. The first model appeared in 1979
in the peak of 110 sized camera boom. But the popular interest soon
fell down and the improved auto 110 super in 1985, though excellent
in design, did not sell well as the first model and most of the Japanese
110 sized cameras gradually disappeared from the scene.

Pentax auto 110's were also sold in outfit "kit" forms. There were
"complete kit", "major kit" and "snap set" available.
The complete kit (pictured in the back of above picture) consits of
the body, 18mm,24mm and 50mm lenses, AF130P electronic flash,
110 winder, case, caps and all attachment lenses. The major kit
is as above minus attachment lenses. The snap set has the body,
PF18mm pan focus lens, smaller AF100P flash and a set case.

In the early '80s, variation in 110 sized films were profound.
You could select from negatives, positives and even monochromes

projectors. The pictures through Kodachrome 64 were beautiful.
I purchased a Kodak pocket Carousel 100 in the mid '80s.
Befor I fill up several trays, Kodachrome supply was dicontinued.
