In the late '50s, several camera manufacturers went into production
of interchangeable lens cameras based on their leaf shutter CRF cameras.
These were aimed at the middle class market who cannot afford
expensive Leica-like cameras with focal plane shutters.
Although these cameras were costly in production, they could not sell
at prices comparative to focalplane shtter cameras. Thus sometimes
caused the decline of the enterprize.
